Feet don't fail me now

I love feet.  I have framed pictures of baby feet.  I like to take feet pictures, and cannot help but check out shoes of new and old friends.  I will never invite you to my closet - the floor is usually strewn with countless pairs of my beloved accessory.

While feet may not be particularly beautiful, they sure know how to get a job done.   They regularly perform thanklessly for years, and I dare say you rarely write healthy, relatively pain-free feet into your Gratitude journal.  If one of the secrets to happiness is finding joy in the simple, feet should top the list.  A few other (more famous than me) people think so too.

A spirit in my feet said GO, and I went. (m. brady)

Keep your feet on the ground, but let your heart soar as high as it will. (AW Tozer)
Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads (Thoreau)
If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.
(A. VanBuren)
The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet
(J. Oppenheim)

There is language in her eye, her cheek, her lip; Nay her foot speaks.
Why isn't there a special name for the tops of your feet? (L. Tomlin)
To chase the glowing hours with flying feet.  (Lord Byron)
The whole world is charged with the glory of God and I feel fire and music under my feet.
(T. Merton)

Be good
Keep your feet dry
your eyes open
your heart at peace
And your soul in the joy of Christ.
(T. Merton)

Hope your feet take you where you want to go...

I love this post, so creative! My fav quote up there is "If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.
(A. VanBuren)" Happy Tuesday! :)

Oh, what a neat post! I am not such a big fan of feet (except baby feet), but I do love shoes! ;) Last summer at the beach I followed a pair of footprints in which the left foot had 6 toes... now THAT'S a foot I'd like to see! Love the quotes - I'm a Thomas Merton fan myself. :)

And didn't Lieutenant Dan make some pretty important reference to feet in the movie Forest Gump?...yeah, my mind works that way.
I did love this post, and I love that not everybody's toes had polish on them. That made me feel better.
